Five FSA NRock supervisers quit

Five of the seven FSA staff assigned to supervise Northern Rock have left the regulator, it has been announced.

The FSA has refused to reveal the names of those that have left, although it did say none will receive compensation. Supervisory staff at the regulator work on a day-to-day basis with firms. The area in which each supervisor works and the size of the firms they have been assigned will determine how many firms they oversee. An FSA spokesperson says: “I can say there were seven supervisory staff involved [with Northern Rock] between January 2006 and July 2007, and that five of them have since left. “None have been given compensation.” The FSA has come under fire for failing to spot the fa...
