Working Brits begin saving for their retirement at the age of 31 and put away an average £198 a month, leading the way for countries in Europe, research indicates.
However, a survey conducted by insurance firm AXA, reveals one in three working people in the UK has not yet begun preparations for their retirement, while just over half (56%) expect to be comfortable after their working days. Brits still lead the way worldwide in terms of making early retirement plans as of New Zealanders begin saving at 32, rising to 34 in the USA, 36 in Australia, 37 in France, 46 in Spain and Portugal, and 51 in Italy, according to AXA.
