Tories "will abolish over-regulating FSA" if elected - papers 12th July

THE CONSERVATIVE Party will ABOLISH the Financial Services Authority in its current form if it wins the next general election, according to a report in this weekend's Sunday Telegraph.

An exclusive interview with The Sunday Telegraph, shadow chancellor Oliver Letwin said the party was increasingly concerned by "the intrusive regulatory regime" imposed by the City watchdog. Although it wouldn’t take a report to deduce most companies feel they are over-regulated, the Conservative Party commissioned the Centre for Policy Studies to interview 200 of Britain's biggest companies as well as City groups about their dealings with the FSA.
