Almost two-thirds of consumers are confident financial firms treat their customers fairly, according to research from the Financial Services Authority.
The survey of 1,904 adults reveals 63% are either fairly or very confident financial firms treat their customers fairly, but 15% say they are not confident this is the case. More consumers think firms have become better (19%) at treating their customers fairly over the past 12 months than worse (11%), but the majority (55%) believe there has been no change. The survey also reveals over a third (35%) of consumers are aware of the FSA and, of those who are aware, almost three-quarters are confident firms follow FSA rules – a four-year high from the baseline measure in 2003.
