Cherry outlines plans to promote mortgage advice

Cherry, an online portal and forum for mortgage intermediaries, is planning to establish an adviser body to promote the benefits of mortgage advice to consumers.

Cherry says the body is not intended to lobby parliament and the regulator, but instead to enable consumers to see the value of mortgage advice, and to help increase business volumes for its members. Cherry wants its 30,000 members to subscribe to the body, which will publicise the services of mortgage intermediaries and drive consumers to its advisers through an online searchable database.
