NU adopts ABI CI definitions

Norwich Union has adopted the Association of British Insurers' best practice definitions for critical illness (CI) cover and increased the maximum term on protection policies with reviewable CI.

From today, Norwich Union is introducing the ABI’s statement of best practice definitions for CI policies, which include the use of more descriptive standard information about critical illnesses in marketing material. The guidelines, which have an implementation deadline of 30 April, aim to provide greater clarity around which conditions are covered and which are not, as well as greater consistency across the industry so advisers can compare policies from different providers.
