New pension generation needs new type of IFA

More pensioners are turning to a 'new breed of IFA' to plan for both their future and those of their children, claims Friends Provident.

In its latest Lasting Lifestyles report, compiled by the Future Laboratory, Friends Provident says parents must stop Spending their Kids Inheritance (SKIing) if they want their children to enjoy a secure and stable future. The report reveals the SKI generation is not the stereotypical image of retirees, as they enjoy life to the full and spend money on career breaks, volunteering, mountaineering, anything rather than retiring. As a result the Future Laboratory says it identified an emerging trend in its consumer research and focus group studies, of consumers turning towards 'a new breed...
