In the UK the FTSE 100 Index continues its good run, adding a further 37 points to 5327.50 today, led by National Grid.

Ordinary shares of the company, which provides electricity to England and Wales, have climbed 13.5p to 533.5p. BHP Billiton has climbed 20p to 810p, after analysts advised investors to buy shares in the mining industry. BHP also announced full ownership of Australian firm, WMC Resources, five months after launching a $9.5bn takeover bid. Chemicals maker, Imperial Chemical Industries has added 6.25p to 269.25p. On the other end of the board Engineering firm, Smiths Group has shed 19.50p to 938p, after traders pointed to an expected rise in exceptional charges. In the US the Dow Jone...
