Landlords should still police tenants - Select Committee

The House of Commons Home Affiars Select Committee has said private social landlords should still police their tenants behavior.

The news follows an enquiry into the role the housing sector, including the role the private-rented sector should play in tackling the problems cause by anti-social behaviour. In its report the committee recommendes that police and local authorities work together with representatives of private landlords to produce local codes of conduct that set out how responsible private landlords are expected to respond to nuisance complaints and the support they can expect from public bodies.
