New Star poaches Trevor Green and Charles Deptford

New Star Asset Management has poached well-known managers Trevor Green, from Allianz RCM, and Barings' Charles Deptford to work on its UK equity desk.

The pair will join New Star at the end of June. They will work closely with Stephen Whittaker, manager of the UK Growth fund and Equity Income Unit Trust and Toby Thompson who runs the Higher Income fund. New Star confirmed Whittaker and Thompson would remain the named managers on the New Star funds. A spokesman added there are currently no plans to add new funds to the range for the new recruits. David Cornell from BDT has also been hired to work in New Star's Emerging Markets team. He will take the lead on Central and Eastern Europe. New Star announced earlier in the year that it ...
