PartyGaming gives FTSE welcome boost

The FTSE 100 has recovered from losses yesterday with early gains of 20.2 points, or 0.37%, to 5,518.1, with PartyGaming leading the advance.

Shares in PartyGaming have jumped 3.75p, or 3.79%, to 102.75p, after the company shrugged off news that smaller rival Empire Online said it was planning legal action against its would-be owner. Enterprise Inns have risen 12p, or 1.39%, to 876p, after full-year net income advanced 44% as the company benefited from increased scale after taking full control of Unique Pub last year. Hilton Group has also climbed 2.25p, or 0.67%, to 339.25p, after saying it sold 15 UK properties for £382.4m and plans to dispose of additional hotels worth more than £400m.
