Henderson New Star touted as new brand

Henderson-New Star could be the new name for Henderson Group's proposed acquisition of New Star Asset Management.

Andrew Formica, chief executive of Henderson Group, favours combined branding because he says New Star has succeeded in capturing a higher market appeal among UK investors than Henderson Global Investors. He says: "I favour a Henderson-New Star brand." Formica adds that positioning the Henderson name before New Star would reassure investors by removing uncertainty and underlying the stability provided by the acquisition. The new entity would then benefit from the solidity provided by Henderson Group and New Star's entrepreneurial flair, says Formica. Investment Week
