The FSA's decision to shut down a Luton-based mortgage broker has been upheld by the Financial Services and Market Tribunal.
Last April, the FSA withdrew individual approval for Norman McIntosh and cancelled Part IV permission of his firm, LA Mortgage Services (LAMS). The FSA concluded that McIntosh was not fit and proper to give mortgage advice due to issues of honesty, integrity and competence. McIntosh was banned from the Financial Intermediaries, Managers and Brokers Regulatory Association (FIMBRA) for failing to be open and honest with the association in 1995 and 1996.
