Fund data to be given a makeover by IMA

The Investment Management Association is to overhaul the way in which retail funds data is presented later this year to include specific information looking at the fund of funds, tracker and ethical sectors.

From July, the IMA will publish quarterly data which reveals not only the sales and performance of different sectors and asset allocations over a 15-year period but will also separately sort out extra sub categories to help IFA and fund groups assess the strategy taken in these three markets. Because such funds can be listed over more than one sector or asset class, the IMA has decided it will not try to deliver sales, funds under management and performance data – as it currently does with existing asset classes, product types and sectors – but will instead try to show how they are being...
