Chartered status has record year

This week's CII graduation ceremony recorded the largest number of chartered title holders since the title was launched.

More than 1,000 people attended the event at the Guildhall, London on Tuesday 27 May, 249 of whom graduated at the ceremony. In his welcome address, Robert Reid, president of the PFS, pointed out that chartered financial planners were now recognised in their own right along side accountants and solicitors. He says: “The Retail Distribution Review is providing us with a substantial challenge going forward, but also a glorious opportunity to show the British public the true value of advice.” CII President Lord Hunt of Wirral also spoke at the event and emphasised the importance of putt...
