Scottish Widows pays out more than £500,000 a week on critical illness (CI) claims, figures show.
The insurer says it paid out the equivalent of £532,000 in CI claims every week between November 2007 and October last year, a total of more than £28m. The number of claims declined due to non-disclosure in 2008 was 2%, down from 5% in the previous 12 months.
