FTSE ends up

The benchmark FTSE 100 ended up 25.40 points today at 4,458.60 after UK stocks rose for the first day in five.

William Hill rose 16.25p to 536.25p after the betting-chain’s shares fell with 7.1% in the previous four sessions. British Airways advanced 7.25p to 258.75p. Fibernet Group, a company which provides data networks for clients such as Citigroup, climbed 4p to 125p. Goldshield Group gained 9p to 259p after the drug maker said its fiscal-year net loss narrowed to £582,000, from £1.45m a year earlier. Overseas, trading is currently up as the Dow Jones Industrial Average index so far has gained 69.76 points to 10,404.49. The S&P 500 index is up 9.32 points to 1,134.61 and Nasdaq'...
