Individuals that have sought financial advice are more likely to be able to peer through the credit crunch and see a stable economy on the other side, AIG research suggests.
The study found 70% of Britons are pessimistic about the current UK economy but that those with financial advice behind them are significantly more optimistic than the less financially informed. More than three-quarters of respondents (76%) who had seen an adviser were optimistic about family life, compared to 58% who hadn’t, the study suggests. AIG says the results are similar when it comes to positive attitudes towards their own short-term financial situation - 46% who had sought financial advice were positive, 26% less so.
