FSSC appoints Stuart Bernau as chairman

The Financial Services Skills Council (FSSC) has appointed Stuart Bernau, commercial and communications director of Nationwide Building Society, as its chairman.

He succeeds Legal & General’s Sir David Prosser who retired earlier this year. Bernau has served on the FSSC’s board since the organisation was established in 2004 and earlier served on the board of its predecessor, the Financial Services National Training Organisation (FSNTO). He was appointed to the Nationwide board in 1996 and served as retail operations director and marketing and commercial director before taking up his current appointment.
