National Financial Services Academy created

The Financial Services Skills Council (FSSC) has been successful in its bid to create a National Financial Services Academy to solve skills problems facing financial services employers, says Education Secretary Ruth Kelly.

The Academy is one of several National Skills Academies being created by the government to provide vocational education and training for young people and adults. The academies are led by employers and are funded by the private and public sectors. The FSSC says the aim of the Academy is to provide solutions to some of the long-standing skills problems facing financial services employers. In particular, the Academy will aim to improve the employability of young people, provide high quality entry-level training, and provide facilities for retraining and continuing professional development. ...
