Pensioners in south-east are most well-off

Single male pensioners receive nearly twice as much income from private pensions than women, while pensioners in the South-east are wealthier than those in the Midlands, according to the latest Clerical Medical pensions report.

The second report in a series of research pieces highlighting trends in savings, the latest research focuses on the varying pension incomes in different regions of the UK, between men and women, and between those above and below the age of 75. On a regional basis, the report reveals pensioner households in the Sout-east are most well off with an average income of £346 per week - £78 higher than the lowest average income in the East Midlands of £268.
