Aqera questions product providers' place at wraps table

Aqera, a software firm developing wrap platform technology, says research into the development, distribution and costings of wrap solutions suggests new business processes plus cost savings could undermine the position of current financial product providers depending on how the technology is implemented.

Ed Holt, Aqera managing director, says three of the “ top ten” financial product providers – un-named – have been involved in its research, and all believe they will end up implementing one of three wrap models the industry looks likely to adopt. The most challenging model from the perspective of existing product providers is the all-encompassing stand-alone wrap provider company charging on an assets-under-management basis.
