Just one in ten homebuyers who received a home information pack (HIP) before completing their property purchase have bothered to read its contents, according to Spicerhaart.
Spicerhaart also claims the partial introduction of HIPs on homes with three bedrooms or more is skewing the percentage and pattern of properties on the market at a time of unusual market conditions. As a result of the findings, Spicerhaart has called on the Government to either drop the HIPs policy or implement the packs on all homes to avoid further agitating the housing market.
