Year-end launch for ISO accreditation

Implementation of an international ISO standard for financial planners is still on schedule to begin operating from the end of this year, say members of the UK working committee.

A meeting of financial planning representatives from around the world met in Berlin last week to discuss what are likely to be the final standards required of any financial planner who wishes to hold ISO accreditation for quality and competence. Following that crucial meeting, it is anticipated this standard of financial planning experience and competence will be recognised as requiring experience and educational background on a par with that required under the CII’s AFPC certificate, along with additional requirements as such demonstration of ethics.
