Sergeant diversifies to reduce risk

Since joining SG Asset Management in October 2002, Hugh Sergeant has had his work cut out revamping the SG UK Growth fund. The fund had been managed by Peter Seabrook from launch in March 1998 until he left the group in early 2002 and by John Richards in the interim. Since Sergeant took over the fund, performance has improved markedly. Over the three months to 13 January, SG UK Growth is ranked 18 of 308 funds in the UK All Companies sector, bid to bid.
