A survey of 300 sixth-formers by Goldfish, which issues credit cards and savings accounts, has found that more than half either underestimate or have no idea at all about the costs of attending tertiary education. The company says calculations provided by the National Union of Students indicate accommodation and rent will cost £2,686 next year, rising to £3,433 in London. 67% of sixth-formers interviewed thought the figure would be less than £2,500, or had no clue. 62% thought food would cost less than £1,000 over a year, with just under a quarter of those not able to guess h...
