UK Other Bond sector beats All-Share

Henderson preference & bond fifth in sector over three years to end january 2003 with return of 21.72% compared to sector average of 10.4%

The UK Other Bond sector delivered returns of 52.49% in excess of the FTSE All-Share over the three-year period to the end of January 2003. The sector, which contains a disparate mix of blended, high yield, zeros and preference share funds, has been an increasingly popular segment of the market in recent times. While many other sectors, such as UK All Companies and UK Equity Income, are contracting, UK Other Bond has been bolstered by five new launches in the past year alone.
