Elston Consulting got tired of “waiting” for regulatory guidance, driving it to launch its sustainable range of model portfolios built 100% with Sustainability Disclosure Regime (SDR) funds ahead of the wider market, its head of research told PA.

Speaking to Professional Adviser, Elston Consulting head of research Henry Cobbe said that back in 2022, during the consultation, there were "very few" SDR-compliant funds, and "even fewer" across multiple asset classes. "It was nearly impossible to build a low-risk, multi-asset portfolio, especially with bond funds, because SDR-compliant bond funds were in short supply," he said. There were more SDR-compliant equity and property funds, but Cobbe said the "lack of compliant bond funds" limited portfolio construction.
