Cairn Independent operations director Laura Young achieved a black belt in Taekwondo at age nine. Not many others have achieved the highest honour in her chosen martial art at such a young age. But while she was disciplined in the dojang and living by the five tenets of her sport - courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit – she was sadly a victim of sexual abuse.
