Neil Messenger and Peter Loughridge have headed up advice operations at major corporates - first Grant Thornton and latterly Abrdn - for the last 20 or so years but recently made the leap to become business owners with the launch of Professional Independent Wealth Advice (PIWA). The pair go back a long way having been partners together at Grant Thornton for close to 20 years - Messenger was also national head of wealth advisory - and following that, they worked together as directors (with Messenger as managing director) at Abrdn's advice arm 1825.
