Following its move to ditch the Ascentric platform and Prudential Financial Planning (PFP) names to combine them under the M&G Wealth umbrella, Sophie King talks to managing director David Montgomery about the move and reassures readers the Pru brand will still very much be a part of the business...

On Wednesday (31 March), M&G announced that its platform Ascentric and Prudential's advice arm will be adopting the name M&G Wealth, with the existing names consgined to mere memory. The rename does not include other aspects of the Prudential brand but changing from a name that is so well known within the financial advice sector and carries such historical weight with the general public it is a particularly interesting move.
