Income strategies lead the way in the Mixed Investment 20-60% Shares sector, writes PA's Maria Merricks.

In the current environment of major uncertainty and politically-led market movements, it is of little surprise that UK investors have continued to shelter in more defensive funds. As equity fund inflows just scraped into positive territory at £17m in March, fixed income was the leading asset class for the seventh consecutive month, according to the IMA's most recent statistics. The second most popular asset class in the same month were the mixed asset sectors, which reported inflows of £348m.
