Belfast-based Denis Vance has worked as an adviser for 23 years, and began his career at a large practice in the city before setting up 'The Brokerage' in 2007.

Like many experienced advisers Denis had not taken exams for years and baulked at the thought of doing so. But he couldn't escape the fact that to be able to continue practicing he would need to ensure he was QCF level 4 qualified by the year end. Denis therefore jumped at the opportunity to take the New Model Business Academy's (NMBA) ‘alternative assessment' - a coursework based qualification that provides a QCF level 4 qualification.
