On 19 May 1984, Watford faced Everton in the FA Cup Final. Every player on the pitch and both managers were British. Andy Gray was still respected as a prolific striker. Elton John owned a team. It was a different age in football. Everton won, Elton cried and climbing the 39 steps to collect a runners up medal was future IFA Stephen Sherwood.
