There is no denying that 2009 shuffled the ‘complacent’ cards of the equity release industry with some unexpected blows dealt by large product providers. The sector boasted a relatively sheltered position at the start of 2009, however, by the end, the industry had to admit that things had changed and year-on-year sales comparisons reflected a decline.
