It was widely predicted that small self-administered schemes (SSAS) would die out post A-day. Indeed, most life assurance companies have sold or disposed of their books of business and left the market. However, IFAs active in the corporate or high-net-worth markets recognise the value of these arrangements and continue to recommend SSAS.
