Pensions minister declines to deny dashboard is doomed

Pensions minister Guy Opperman has tiptoed around questions posed by the Work and Pensions Committee on the future of the pension dashboard, following reports the government might pull out of the project.

Speaking in an oral evidence session on the defined benefit white paper on Wednesday morning, the committee asked the pensions and financial inclusion minister to dispel "spurious rumours" and give the room an update on the progress of the dashboard. Opperman (pictured) responded: "The long and short of it is, you'll understand that this is a matter on which the government has to make a decision. No decision has been made.
