Brits may like crypto-assets but advisers 'avoid like the plague'

Some 15% of Brits may be considering investing in cryptocurrencies, a new survey has suggested, but financial advisers would be warning them to steer clear of such a volatile investment.

According to research by ThinkCoin, one-in-seven (15%) people in the UK are considering cryptocurrency investment. This figure compares with the 17% of Brits who presently invest on the stockmarket, which ThinkCoin suggested was evidence of a "mainstreaming" of cryptocurrencies as an investment option. In reality, 4% of Brits have acted on these intentions and bought cryptocurrencies but ThinkCoin CEO and co-founder Nauman Anees said many people were beginning to wake up to the "huge opportunities" cryptocurrencies represent.
