Temperatures this week soared to a new UK May record – of 35.1ºC, logged in Kew Gardens – and it wasn’t just the general public who were feeling the heat.

Criticism and concerns on the government's inheritance tax (IHT) on pensions and cash ISA limit changes (in the latest update, the chancellor is reportedly looking to bring in a 22% levy on cash interest in stocks and shares ISAs) continued to pile in. On IHT on pensions, Nucleus technical services director Andrew Tully argued that HMRC is looking to "have its cake and eat it".
