As we settle into 2026, here's a wish from someone who spends a lot of time listening to advisers: platforms need to stop trying to be the antagonist of the investing story. Advisers should be thinking about platforms only in how they can support them in helping their clients achieve their financial goals. That's it. While I've made platforms my career and am the first to promote their attributes, they are not the main character.
