A survey conducted by the charity Surviving Economic Abuse (SEA) earlier this year revealed that 15% of women in the UK - equivalent to more than 4 million women - have had their money controlled by an abuser in the previous 12 months. Of even greater concern is that more than two-fifths (42%) of these women did not speak to anyone, not even family or friends, about what they were going through.
