Since the turn of the 21st century, ESG-based investing has experienced a meteoric rise to around $3.5trn assets under management (AUM) globally. However, recently, some commentators have stated that it's lost momentum, hamstrung by unsupportive politics and greenwashing, with some even further claiming that ‘ESG is dead'.
