It's not easy being a platform. You might think that in the sunlit uplands of 2025, where technology rules supreme, it might be getting easier. Not quite, I'm afraid. Because wherever you look, regulatory headwinds are blowing. For a start, the FCA is, finally, catching on to the potential perils of consolidation. An October letter confirmed it was probing everything from governance and oversight to capital levels.
