In a speech at the Imperial College Business School in January, Financial Conduct Authority chief executive Nikhil Rathi explored both the benefits that consumer technology offers the financial services sector and the dilemmas it can create.   The speech recognised the need to embrace innovation and to make sure the benefits of big data extend beyond 'big tech'.
