It is very nearly twenty-one years since I was involved in setting up ValidPath, what appears to be the UK's last remaining independent financial adviser (IFA) network that is fully committed to the principles of genuinely independent financial advice.  It hasn't been easy, and there have been moments when I wondered if our distinctive, ethics-led, people-focused philosophy was actually able to be sustainable for the long term.
