Marriage, it seems, is going out of fashion. Data from the Office of National Statistics (ONS) revealed that the number of marriages between heterosexual couples in England and Wales fell to 213,122 in 2019, that's a 6.5% drop year on year, and the lowest number since 1888. The number of same sex marriages also fell by 2.8%.
