Just as when you are house-hunting, there is a list of things your ideal platform needs to have within a price range that is acceptable. Steve Owen takes a closer look at what really matters when selecting a platform

When I moved house recently, it really focused my mind on what was important to me in a new home. I then realised the thought process had a lot of similarities with selecting a new platform partner, which is a big decision for advisers and their clients. It may be that where you live now is all right, but you want something more - whether that is more space, less space, a better location, more character, less maintenance or a project.
