Financial advisers are feeling the heat from a number of sources. They are subject to greater scrutiny on fees, transparency and compliance with an ever-increasing amount of regulation. Simultaneously robo-advisers are proliferating at a rate of knots. In a report in June, the FCA and Treasury advised that 100 ‘robo models' had either already launched or were "in development across a broad spectrum of services ranging from simple budgeting, non-advised investment, discretionary investment management and online personalised recommendations".
