In just a few weeks' time, we will have a glimpse of a new system that could deliver enormous benefits to consumers, advisers and the wider pensions sector, writes Duncan Howorth.

A prototype of the pension dashboard will launch shortly, giving the industry an idea of how the finalised version might operate on the planned full launch in 2019. To some people that might seem like a tight schedule but the reality is that a pensions dashboard is long overdue. The average worker has held 11 jobs by the time they reach retirement and many will have opened pension plans with at least some of their employers.
