Attivo CEO Stephen Harper criticises small advisers as being a cottage industry, but doesn't seem to realise that is precisely their unique selling point. I happen to know a little about his firm and others of comparable size and, while it may well suit some clients to have an adviser, client manager and paraplanner in attendance, many clients prefer to deal with one person who has a complete and comprehensive overview.
